Sarasota's Premier Senior & Headshot Photographer

Meet Unity | Beauty Revived |Sarasota Senior Portraits

Yesterday Beauty Revived announced the photographers and seniors whose senior portraits would be featured in the January 2016 “Most Beautiful Seniors” edition of the Beauty Revived Magazine. Photographers from all over the country ran campaigns in search of high school seniors who exemplify real beauty.

Senior portraits created in force to showcase honest to goodness inner beauty? DONE.

I’m thrilled to announce that the senior portraits I took of a very special Sarasota High School senior will be featured in the Beauty Revived Magazine. She so deserves it, and I can’t wait for you to meet her.

What is Beauty Revived??

Beauty Revived is a photography movement whose mission it is to showcase real beauty.

Beauty Revived is an online and print publication dedicated to telling the stories of real people with real beauty.  In a world where the media celebrates only those with perfect skin, weight and hair, Beauty Revived is a movement that focuses on true and inner beauty.  Photographers from all over the world donate photography sessions to individuals who exemplify this real beauty.  These sessions are featured on the Beauty Revived blog and magazine.

What is the Beauty Revived’s Mission Statement?

To uplift, inspire and empower photographers of faith and integrity to shed light on the good, the strong and the beautiful.

Enter Unity Monday. A Sarasota High School senior with a unique name, a huge heart, and a passion for life.

Tired of trying to cram her sparkly, star shaped self into society’s beige square holes,
she choose to embrace her ridiculous awesomeness and shine like the magnificent supernova that she was.
-anon.

Her personality is every bit as electric as her blue hair. She is beautiful. She has a story to tell. She is Beauty Revived.

And tell her story, we will…life has not always been kind to her. Unity shared her story with me and with Beauty Revived. It will be shared with the world when the magazine comes out in January. We spent the day together several weeks ago to capture her senior portraits for the campaign. We started with some pampering at Athena Salon Suite, followed by a little lunch (complete with hot chocolate, of course), and then onto the photoshoot. We had lots of fun (we won’t talk about the fire ants. Nasty little buggers).

And at the end of the day, a huge hug from Unity told me all I needed to know. “No one has ever made me feel this beautiful.”

Well, sweet girl, you ARE beautiful. Don’t you ever forget it.

Meet Unity. She is Beauty Revived.

I hear it every single time. “I’m not really a photo person.”

And then golden hour hits and she can’t stop laughing and I catch the shot and she is absolutely a photo person. Always was.

That part never changes, no matter how many sessions I do.

If you have a class of 2026 or 2027 senior, let’s start dreaming up her perfect session. Link in bio.
She showed up knowing exactly who she was. That energy, that confidence, that specific kind of ‘I’m not trying to be anyone else’ - it made my job easy.

This is what I love most about senior sessions. When a senior walks in feeling like herself, the photos just follow. We moved around, laughed a little, and by the end we had a whole gallery that actually looked like her.

Not a generic senior portrait. Her.

If your senior has a session coming up - or you’re just starting to think about it - I’d love to hear about her. What is she into? What does she want her photos to feel like? Let’s start there.
