My neighbor is The Barefooted Designer, how cool is that? I’ve thought about venturing into Sarasota Real Estate photography and Amy’s helped make that a reality.
After 16 months here on the Suncoast, I am finally meeting people and it’s starting to feel like home. I met Amy Archer a few months ago when she hosted a lunch for the ladies in our neighborhood.
Here’s to the ladies who lunch–
Everybody laugh.
Lounging in their caftans
And planning a brunch
On their own behalf.
Off to the gym,
Then to a fitting,
Claiming they’re fat.
And looking grim,
‘Cause they’ve been sitting
Choosing a hat.
Does anyone still wear a hat?
I’ll drink to that.

OK, so it wasn’t quite like that. Actually it was rather nice. Here’s the thing, I’m an introvert. So, in 560984083 ways, it’s my own fault that I sat in my house for 16 months without making much of an effort to get out and meet people. And moving across the country when your husband travels for work, you work from home, and you have no kids is HARD.
As the Barefooted Designer, Amy writes an informative, often hilarious, always on point blog about her adventures turning her in-need-of-some-love abode into a stunning and light filled homeowner’s dream. (wow, that was a LONG sentence). So, when creative minds merge, magic happens.
Amy’s blog is also published weekly in the Sarasota Herald Tribune Real Estate section. Sarasota Real Estate Photography.
“Would you consider taking some photos of my nest for my blog and possible publication in the paper?”
“Um, yes. Duh.”
And thus, a beautiful collaboration and friendship was born. And my inner-introvert is breathing a sigh of relief.
And, as I do, I made Amy answer my James Lipton Pivot Questionnaire. And she indulged me. Because that’s how she rolls.
