March in Pictures | Instagram Project 365 | Sarasota Headshot Photography

And just like that, it’s April! Here were are, seven days in, and if I’m going to post my Instagram Project 365 photos for March, I’d better do it soon!

Today is the 98th day of 2016. This means that for 463 days straight I have posted at least one picture per day. For years it was thought that it takes 21 days to form a habit. I call BS. I almost forgot to post my photo last night. On day 462. Which either means it takes way longer than 21 days, or I’m just a slow learner. But, I got it done and we carry on!

“March came in that winter like the meekest and mildest of lambs, bringing days that were crisp and golden and tingling, each followed by a frosty pink twilight which gradually lost itself in an elfland of moonshine.”
― L.M. Montgomery

March brought spring to Florida and we are seeing lots of flowering trees and new life springing forward. I visited the Selby Gardens and saw some of the most beautiful orchids ever.  I attended the Sarasota Wine Fest and had the privilege of photographing a farm to table dinner and wine event. Wines were provided by Azienda Agricola direct from Ruvo di Puglia, Italy. It was awesome.

I went to Disney for a day and spent time with my dear friend Amanda from Amanda Schoch Photography…we got to play together and then I was honored to photograph her fun crew.

And then I got to photograph the phenomenal Ashley for Beauty Revived. Another magical experience. I will share it all soon on the blog, so stay tuned!

There is SO MUCH going on. And how great is that! Coming up this month is the Night with the Stars Special Needs prom on April 14th, and then in May I will be partnering with Bag Up the Love and Do Your Best Sanctuary to host a day of Mini Sessions. These sessions will benefit children going into foster care in Sarasota County. Stay tuned for more details. You won’t want to miss this event!

Phew! That’s a ton of info. Oh! And there will be another 30 Day Photo Challenge starting soon as well. Make sure you sign up here to be notified of start dates and to jump on board. It’s a lot of fun!

And now, without further adieu…. Instagram Project 365 – March 2016

I hear it every single time. “I’m not really a photo person.”

And then golden hour hits and she can’t stop laughing and I catch the shot and she is absolutely a photo person. Always was.

That part never changes, no matter how many sessions I do.

If you have a class of 2026 or 2027 senior, let’s start dreaming up her perfect session. Link in bio.
She showed up knowing exactly who she was. That energy, that confidence, that specific kind of ‘I’m not trying to be anyone else’ - it made my job easy.

This is what I love most about senior sessions. When a senior walks in feeling like herself, the photos just follow. We moved around, laughed a little, and by the end we had a whole gallery that actually looked like her.

Not a generic senior portrait. Her.

If your senior has a session coming up - or you’re just starting to think about it - I’d love to hear about her. What is she into? What does she want her photos to feel like? Let’s start there.
