There are Octobers | Project 365 | Sarasota Family Photography

“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”
– Anne of Green Gables, L.M. Montgomery

October. I don’t know why I love it so, but I do. The crisp clean air. The explosion of color from every tree and bush. It’s the month of my father’s birth, my parent’s anniversary, and my own anniversary. I guess that explains it. Yes, I am so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers. How sad it would be without them. Florida is a little lacking in it’s “October-ness” however, so this year I’ve had to rely on the kindness of others to get me my Autumn fix. I’m hosting another 30 Day photo challenge and I’m so grateful to all the participants for showering me with images exploding with fall color. Phew. Want to check out the #FallFrenzy30 images? You can see them all on Instagram here.

I’ve made it a point to always travel to see the foliage during the fall, but this year it didn’t happen. The reason why is a pretty good one. One I’d take over fall color any day. (Sorry, October….Italy trumps fall). Cap’n Tony and I spent 12 glorious days in Italy. Oh. Em. Gee. I couldn’t get enough and want to go back. I promise to share more about our trip later….but back on task.

Did you know there are only 53 days left of 2015? That means that for 312 days, I have taken/posted at least one picture. I’m actually a little impressed with myself! If you’ve been following along you’ll know that I didn’t really have much faith that I’d make it too far in this challenge. I admit, I’m a great project starter…but a project finisher? Not so much. I’m already wondering if I should attempt another in 2016?

These seed pods from the Golden Rain Tree are about as close to fall foliage as I’ve seen here in Florida.

Thank you for following me on this journey. You can always keep tabs on me here and see if I make it all the way to the end. The finish is in sight!

Happy 10 years to Cap’n Tony. The best is yet to come, my love.

You kissed me then under the starry October sky. And as we melted into one another, I knew I was in love.
